Ravi Ravindran is a native of
Singapore. After completing his 2 1/2
year National Service with the Republic
of Singapore Navy, he graduated from the
University of Wales Institute of Science
and Technology, in 1983 with a BSc.
Hons. in Maritime Commerce. After
spending time as a trainee Marine
Surveyor, he obtained his Diploma in Law
from City University, London in 1986.
Following three years of articleship in
London, Ravi successfully completed the
Law Society Final Examinations at the
College of Law, York in August 1990. He
was admitted as a Solicitor in December
1990. After working with the UK P&I Club
in London for six years, he was the
Senior Legal Adviser to Cable & Wireless
Marine Ltd and subsequently set up his
own Maritime Law Consultancy in
Istanbul, Turkey. Ravi has built up
extensive experience in the Steel and
Grain trades, Shipbuilding matters and
Marine Casualties and lately casualty
management. Languages – English, Tamil,
Malay.

M. Hakan Tufekci is a member of the
Istanbul Bar. He graduated from Marmara
University Faculty of Law in 2003 and
subsequently an LLM from University of
Wales, Swansea in 2007. He is currently
undertaking his Ph.D at Galatasaray
University. He has obtained the Lloyds
Maritime Academy Certificate on Guide to
