1. Casualty investigation and management – We are specialists in this field having undertaken instructions in excess of 70 ship related casualties since 1997.
   
   
2. Newbuilding Contracts – We have acted for a number of Turkish Shipbuilders and have thus far advised and assisted them in the sale of no less than 62 newbuildings of between 3500 – 17000dwt. To date we have assisted various Shipyards and Buyers in delivering more than 100 Newbuildings.
   
   
3. Commodity Contracts – We are regularly instructed by commodity traders in relation to various disputes arising under their contracts and our speciality areas are scrap metal, steel products, coal and grain products.
   
   
4. Cargo Claims recovery – Recovery actions in respect of cargo damage and shortlandings. We are retained by Turkey’s largest cargo underwriter to advise and assist them in relation to recovery actions.
   
   
5. Submarine Telecom and Sub-Sea Engineering projects – Under-sea fibre optic cable laying and maintenance projects is one of our speciality areas as is liability disputes relating to damage to fibre optic cables. We advise Contractors in relation to the sub-sea engineering contracts and provision of marine related resources. We have advised Clients in relation to the Sakhalin II Project.
   
   
6. Piracy – We have engaged in direct negotiations with the pirates in the Puntland region of Somalia. In two instructions that we have undertaken both vessels were released after 47 days and 61 days respectively. However, the duration of captivity has increased in the recent past as has the quantum of ransom.
   
   
7. Servicing the needs of Shipowners and Ship Operators – We provide Shipowners and Operators with a professional support structure to not only avoid potential disputes but in the event of a dispute or claim, to secure swift resolution thereof. At times when a Vessel encounters problems arising from plying certain routes or difficult regions, our extensive network of correspondents can ably assist in promptly resolving problems as and when they occur.
