About Us

NexLaw is a Consultancy engaged in the provision of legal advice and assistance to Shipowners, Charterers, Commodity Traders, Steel Producers, Grain Houses, Underwriters, Shipyards and the Maritime community at large.

NexLaw is managed by Ravi Ravindran, who originates from Singapore. Ravi graduated from the University of Wales Institute of Science and Technology, in 1983 with a BSc. Hons. in Maritime Commerce. He obtained his Diploma in Law from City University, London in 1986. Following three years of articleship in London, Ravi successfully completed the Law Society Final Examinations at the College of York in August 1990. He was admitted as a Solicitor in December 1990. After working with the UK P&I Club in London for six years, he worked as the Senior Legal Adviser to Cable & Wireless Marine Ltd and subsequently set up his own Legal Practice in Istanbul, Turkey.

In 1998, Ravi founded Nexlaw as a Maritime Consultancy in Istanbul, Turkey. Due to a growing demand from Clients based in the Arabian Gulf and North Africa, Nexlaw was re-organised in November 2010 and established under the Dubai Maritime City Free Zone programme. We are now known as Nexlaw Maritime Legal Consultancy DMCEST with the Dubai office being the main office and the Istanbul office being a representative office.
